New EP The Fools Heart by Tori BLK Deals With Feelings of Love and Rejection

Will Lisil 26 June 2022

Tori BLK’s latest EP, The Fools Heart is an emotive indie-pop journey. If you can’t make it down to Southwest in Arizona this month, you can still check out the singer-songwriter’s new EP released last month.

The singer Tori BLK has released a new EP, The Fools Heart. The pop musician is based in the USA and her EP consists of 4 tracks. All of the tracks express feelings of passion and creativity.

Like lots of people, I’m always looking for new music to listen to. I’m particularly interested in independent artists, and one that I recently came across is called Tori BLK.

If you’re a fan of contemporary pop music with electronic influences, then you’ll find her wonderful. Listening to this album feels like a trip inward as the kind of soft rock vocals from singer Tori Black evoke a dream-like state which invites you to explore the emotions being conveyed through her lyrics about love and rejection.

With songs about heartache, frustration and sadness, I would have loved to hear more energy in this EP but it’s difficult for me not to get drawn into the feeling and the mood created by Tori Black throughout these four pop-style recordings.

We really enjoyed listening to this EP by Tori BLK while trying to enjoy the amazing 80s vibe present in all tracks. The producers at MW3.biz and PopHits.Co just loved it and it’s already included in our playlist. You can listen to our full playlist or know more about the artist by scrolling down the page.

The soulful singing style used in her love songs and musical pieces like “Slower” conveys emotions using variations in tone and vocal effects while having minimal accompaniment on a simple but effective drum beat.

I think you’ll especially like the song “Maybe” which is a fun reminiscence of possible relationships reflecting idealistically on how things will be at the beginning with your loved one before things turned serious: “Maybe we could give us a try!” is her message. Who knows?

A common theme of the four songs on this EP is the story of a young girl learning about the feelings of rejection and heartbreak for the first time. The songs present a glimpse into what that feels like on an emotional and physical level through catchy pop melodies that will appeal to what Tori calls, on her social media and website, “fools and heartbroken”.

“I feel like I’ve been wanting to hit this topic for the past 3 years but I wasn’t able to get it down with so much of what I was going through on a personal level.”

As a result of losing a family member, the singer stated that things in her life have changed. Having lost her father, grieving personal loss, and having her mother suffer a stroke, the artist has struggled with writing music for quite a while, and this EP means a lot to her, and she hopes it can also help mend some hearts in the world.

The singer knows the topic of rejection is out there but she thinks it isn’t completely talked about in the mainstream world of music.

“Honestly, I don’t think people wanna tell others about how they were rejected. It can be embarrassing and hard to talk about out loud and we just want to burn it and move on.”

Tori BLK

Tori thinks that being open allows you to process your emotions and create a space for you to heal. On another note, the artist states that she hears more songs about falling in love than unrequited love and rejection on the radio and we need to remember love isn’t like what we see in the movies.

Tori, a member of the LGBTQ community with a background in songwriting, says her songwriting was also influenced by her own experience as a 31-year-old Lesbian woman who has experienced ups and downs in her love life and can be interpreted from the perspective of other LGBTQ individuals.

Throughout the years to come, she wants to be a complete advocate for LGBTQ equality through her music and hopes that the stories she writes will reach the right audiences at the right time.

Well, she is right, we have to be more realistic, about feelings, different kinds of love, and even music. So let’s be realistic now and check out this great EP by listening to all Tori’s songs and following the artist on Spotify to support her art.
