Cosmos: Noc Beteck in the Signal Chain of a 163-Second Auto-Tune Pop Single

A Self-Released Track Stacks a Tuned Vocal on Synths and EDM Drums in 163 Seconds

Cosmos by Noc Beteck is built in layers, and the vocal sits at the top of the chain. He runs it through Auto-Tune and sets it over synths and EDM drums. Then he finishes the whole thing in two minutes and 43 seconds. The independent single came out in March 2023, and it still shows how much a short track can carry.

Noc Beteck’s Cosmos is part of our Electronic Pop, Dream Pop, Hyperpop playlist below, and his full run of coverage sits on the Noc Beteck artist profile. The single reached TopMusic.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, the programme that verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news sites. Give it a spin for all 163 seconds, then read on for the signal chain behind it.

Auto-Tune, Synth Layers and EDM Drums Build the Arrangement of Cosmos by Noc Beteck

Start with the vocal, because the rest of the track is arranged around it. Auto-Tune is often treated as a correction tool. On Cosmos, however, it works as part of the sound. Used as an effect, it gives a voice the synthetic edge of a decade of rap and pop. Noc Beteck uses it as a texture, not a fix, which ties the vocal to the electronics around it.

Under the vocal sit the synths. Reviews at the time of release heard busy, fast-moving synth lines and punchy beats. A bass line holds the low end together. That combination places the track where Auto-Tune rap, electronic pop and EDM meet. Similarly, the tags on his music cover the same ground, from hip-hop and rap to hyperpop, rave and vocal dance.

The drums do the rest. The track moves at an upbeat, dance-floor pace. That is why a 2023 roundup on this site called it an EDM dance song built for the club. Because there is less than three minutes to work with, the song reaches its high point quickly. As a result, nothing in the arrangement outstays its welcome.

Short Runtime and Dense Production Shape the Mix of a Self-Released Electronic Single

The length is a production decision as much as a songwriting one. At 163 seconds, Cosmos suits repeat plays and the short clips where electronic pop now finds many listeners. In fact, the artist uses it that way himself: on his YouTube channel, Cosmos plays under short NFL highlight clips. A dense mix helps here. With the vocal, synths and drums all present early, the track needs no long introduction to make its case.

The release itself was independent. The copyright line on the Spotify single names a distribution label, not a major or an established independent. That points to a self-released track. In practice, the production choices sit with the artist.

TopMusic.News first picked up the track in April 2023, in a roundup of EDM releases from independent artists. Three and a half years later, the reasons it stood out then still hold. It is short, it is busy and the vocal treatment is part of the song rather than an afterthought.

Daft Punk, Travis Scott and Porter Robinson Map the Ground Around a Tuned Vocal

For reference points, three acts help. Daft Punk put a heavily processed vocal at the centre of One More Time in 2000. That showed a tuned voice could be the hook rather than a flaw. Later, Travis Scott made Auto-Tune part of the beat in rap, treating the vocal as one more layer. Meanwhile, Porter Robinson built Worlds in 2014 on bright synths and processed voices. That is the space where electronic pop and EDM overlap.

Cosmos draws on all three ideas in a much shorter form. It also sits inside a specific moment. It was his third single in roughly ten weeks, after he began releasing music publicly in late 2022. Parasocial followed in April 2023, so the track belongs to a busy first run rather than a one-off.

Where to Hear Cosmos by Noc Beteck and the Rest of a Growing Catalogue

Cosmos suits listeners who want Auto-Tune rap and electronic pop at once, delivered without any wasted time. DJs and playlist curators can also use it as a short, high-energy bridge between hip-hop and EDM sets.

Born in Cameroon and raised in Salisbury, Maryland, Noc Beteck kept his music private for years. In a 2023 interview with Bored City, he said he only decided to start releasing it in December 2022. Since then, the catalogue has grown to nearly 30 singles on Spotify, the latest of them out in October 2026. Away from the studio, he works with young people through the Boys & Girls Club.

For new listeners, Cosmos is the clearest example of where his hip-hop meets EDM. The short running time leaves room for nothing else. So start here, then work back through the catalogue.

From the TopMusic.News Curator Team: “Follow the tuned vocal from the first line. The whole track is done before the three-minute mark, so every section has to earn its place.”
