With the rise of EDM and more and more producers, DJs and artists are emerging every day. It’s a tough business and only a handful will make it to the top.
At first, it seems like finding the outstanding ones is a challenging mission. The streaming services are boiling with new music arriving every single day. But most of us listen to the same artists over and over again and this is not the ideal situation for us, we have to get updated. With that in mind, we have created a fantastic list of songs released by independent artists and alternative producers.
This way, we’ll make sure that you can find some good music to work out to or make your friends listen to while on a road trip, for the next party’s soundtracks or for a night out.
If you have a playlist on iTunes, Spotify or Soundcloud filled with all kinds of electronic songs and artists, I am sure you always seem to get lost in the mix and never get updated. This article is for you, so let’s get started!
Now we’re going to change your “not updated” playlist by sharing some awesome tracks to add to your collection. You can listen to our full playlist which contains the artists’ music, and know more about their work by scrolling down the page.
1) VALLAC – I Will Find You
VALLAC‘s new single “I Will Find You” is a deep house masterpiece. It’s a classic sound that you’ll want to play again and again. Be aware that this track is summer and radio ready!
The song starts with an anthemic, euphoric melody that will have you dancing in your seat. Then it drops into a soothing house beat that makes you feel like everything is right in the world. And then we get to the vocals—a beautiful female voice singing lyrics about finding true love even while in a dark place.
VALLAC is an independent Italian artist who has been working hard on his music for years and had to stop because of the restrictions. In the entertainment world, after months of restrictions and stops, this track represents rebirth, where the world is ready to move again and have fun!
Check it out, now! You can check out VALLAC’s website and follow him on Spotify for more amazing music as well!
2) BRYANNA RAIN – Arcades, Aeroplanes
Bryanna Rain is an independent artist from Richmond, Virginia. Her music is a great example of experimental electronic pop and glitchy synth waves. I really love her latest single, Arcades, Aeroplanes – it’s got some great disco 80’s vibes with a modern twist that makes it perfect for dancing!
I also love the way she uses female vocals to tell a story in most of her songs and it included a music video designed in hand drawing style. The lyrics are quirky and dark-pop at times, but they’re always very relatable and easy to relate to. Her voice reminds me of Grimes’ style sometimes, which is always a good thing!
If you like what you hear on Spotify then be sure to follow her and check her website, so you can keep up with all her latest updates
3) QUENTIN – Love Shot (The Dance Remix)
If you’re looking for electronic pop music with a classic sound, check out Quentin‘s Love Shot (The Dance Remix).
The single was released weeks ago and has already been considered a summer anthem. The song is a remix of the original track from his debut release earlier this year. It’s an upbeat dance track that will have you dancing around your room and feeling the beat deep in your bones.
Quentin is from Brighton, England, where he started making music as a hobby years ago, but this was just the seed for an artistic career. He’s been creating electronic pop music since then.
Quentin’s music style has been heavily influenced by the classic singers of the 60s and 70s, such as Aretha Franklin, The Isley Brothers, and Patti LaBelle, over the course of his musical career. I think the best part of everything was the R&B blend with EDM of his songs, we loved them all.
If you like what you hear on Spotify, be sure to follow him there and visit his website, so that you don’t miss any new releases!
4) HAZY SHEA – Milestones
HAZY SHEA‘s Milestones is the perfect song for anyone who loves dream pop, EDM beats, and catchy dance songs. The artist is based in California, United States.
The song starts off with a soft guitar riff that transitions into an electronic beat with a female vocalist singing in the background. The drums are powerful from the first second, which was a positive factor in my opinion. I was waving my head with the punch of the first beat too.
This track has all the hallmarks of a commercial hit: dreamy vocals, an upbeat rhythm, and catchy lyrics. It’s perfect for those who like dark pop music or EDM beats with a danceable beat. It’s a radio-ready summer hit for sure!
It’s interesting how this track makes us develop a feeling of accomplishment while listening. It is perfect for working out and dancing. I recommend checking out HAZY SHEA on Spotify and visiting her website to learn more about this talented artist!
5) RADIKALHINDU – Want U
The latest single from RADIKALHINDU is a dreamy, easy-listening track that will be stuck in your head for days. Want U is the second single from the artist’s debut EP, which was released earlier this year. The first single, Need Me, was well-received by critics, who noted its “lush” production and “soothing” vocals.
The project as a whole was described as “chillwave,” which is the perfect descriptor for RADIKALHINDU’s sound: soft yet powerful, cool yet warm. This new track continues in that vein, combining elements of dream pop, alternative rock, and electronic pop into one sweetly euphoric package.
The lyrics are simple but effective: “I want you,” they repeat over and over again with a very nice voice effect that makes it all childish and Dubstepish, but enjoyable—and there’s no denying that you’ll want them too after listening to this song!
RADIKALHINDU has been influenced by artists like Pharrell & Kaytradada; if you’re looking for an easy listening experience in the same style, with some serious pop culture vibes (think US electro-pop culture), check out his SoundCloud and follow him on Spotify!
6) FLATFOOT SAM – BoatHouse
If you’ve been looking for a new electronic/indie pop artist to follow, chances are you’ve stumbled upon FLATFOOT SAM. This UK-based experimental EDM artist is putting together some of the most catchy, ethereal tracks we’ve heard this year.
His latest single, “BoatHouse,” is a perfect example of his sound: it’s got a leftfield beat that draws you in, but it’s so catchy that you find yourself humming along before you know it. The story of BoatHouse is set in an old lifeboat station situated at the bottom of a deep cove in deep Cornwall, which is well off the beaten track. There is something spiritual and special about this place and this inspired the producer.
The song also features female vocals (which is always a plus!) and an ambient quality that takes your mind off all the worries of everyday life and lets you escape into something more beautiful than yourself.
The song starts in Spanish, but don’t worry you don’t need to understand every single word, just assimilate this piece of art. Listen to the beat, the great vocal and the lyrical background. Wow!
It then transforms into “TripField”, which is a mix of Trip Hop and Leftfield. It’s clear this guy knows what he’s doing. He deserves all the credit for the results of his project, which were outstanding.
If you want to check out more of this talented artist’s work and see where he goes next with his sound (because we’re sure he’ll keep getting better!), visit his SoundCloud and follow him on Spotify!
7) STACEY JACKSON – Urgent
Stacey Jackson is a British artist based in London. Her single, Urgent is a recreation of the Foreigner’s rock n roll song from 1981. But this one is a dance tune with a commercial pop flavour.
The song has a catchy melody, which makes it perfect for the radio and dancefloors. The vocals are strong and confident, as well as being able to hit some high notes that are not easy for many female vocalists to pull off.
The instrumentation is an electronic rock with an EDM vibe. It sounds like something you would hear at a club or at a concert with an audience of thousands of people who are all dancing together.
If you’re into the UK pop music scene then you’ll probably enjoy this track because it has elements from both pop and rock genres but mostly focuses on being fun rather than serious or deep in any way.
So, if you’re looking for something new then listen up! Check it out, visit the artist’s website and follow on Spotify.
8) DISCO DREAMS – Ether Swamp
DISCO DREAMS is an independent artist from Cleveland, Ohio who makes dark pop, psytrance, and techno. His newest single, Ether Swamp, is a perfect example of his unique sound.
“Ether Swamp” is a trippy song, it starts off with a catchy beat that’s reminiscent of the experimental electro-pop music that was popular in the early ’80s. It can literally transport you to another dimension.
It makes you wait for more from the beginning, and then builds into a nostalgic and danceable synth line that sounds like it could be on the soundtrack to a movie about a dystopian future where everyone works out all day and parties all night. I know, my imagination is too fertile, but with this track in my ears, it can’t help!
If you’re looking for something new but familiar in terms of beats, check out DISCO DREAMS’ single “Ether Swamp”. You can listen to the whole thing on Spotify and visit the artist’s website where he has more information about his next projects.
9) DYLAN TAUBER – The Lagoon
Israel-based EDM artist Dylan Tauber is back with his 13th album, The Lagoon. The 12-track album features the producer’s signature blend of trance and vocal electro-pop. Tauber’s work is known for its commercial appeal, but it also has an emotional depth that makes it appealing to listeners.
That’s something we can all find ourselves tapping our feet to, being emotionally conditioned by the music we consume. This album put’s you in a dark mood and lifts you up in the next song. It’s an emotional journey, please listen to the full album with your best earphones. You will not regret it for sure!
The Lagoon sounds like a soundtrack to your favourite movie. It’s cinematic and euphoric, featuring short words as lyrics that are – due to its effects – equal parts emotional and empowering. The album is filled with electronic pop bangers and house tracks perfect for working out or dancing. The track The Lagoon is our favourite but try out Dance For Me too.
Tauber has been a part of the Israeli music scene since 1996, when he started making music, he knows how to grab your attention with his sound. This guy is just amazing, a true artist!
If you’re looking for some new tunes to add to your workout playlist or just want something fun to jam out to while you’re driving, give this album a listen. Check it out, visit the artist’s website and follow on Spotify.
10) DE ANTIQUIS ET NOVIS – Alchemy
DE ANTIQUIS ET NOVIS is a German electronic music artist, who has been active for many years. The artist’s latest single, “Alchemy,” is a blend of synth-pop and electro house. The song is an anthemic pop track that will have you dancing in no time.
The song starts off with a catchy instrumental, and keyboards, before launching into an energetic chorus with the classic sound of a synthesizer.
The song maintains its energy throughout, making it perfect for working out or dancing! It’s also great for parties and clubbing because of its upbeat tempo and mood-lifting beats.
The artist draws inspiration from the European EDM scene and classic sounds of pop music from the 80s and 90s, but with modern 2022 production, it’s a mix of the old and the new EDM. This can be heard clearly in his new single “Alchemy” as well as his previous releases such as “Vallis Bouvard”.
We recommend you stop everything and relax listening to this track, explore his portfolio and enjoy his art. Check it out, visit the artist’s website and follow on Spotify.
