With an atmospheric sound and classic tone, Finnish musician Matyascorvinus offer a cinematic introspective experience filled with Nordic influences.
Matyascorvinus‘ art is instrumental but diverse in harmonies. His reflective instrumental music takes us back to the early days of the recording industry and yet sounds fresh.
You’ll feel relaxed and nostalgic — what else could you ask for? Atmospheric and ethereal tracks, acoustic arrangements, and strings with a slight touch of folk provide the perfect soundtrack for making you relax or making progress on meaningful work, or whenever you want to escape from your office).
I can say that the intimate relaxing music produced by Matyascorvinus is the soundtrack to my heart and mind. The moment I listened to this artist, I was hooked by the enjoyable instrumental sound he produces.
I find myself constantly going back to his music and raving to my friends about how fantastic it is. Every track has a different theme, and a different mood — yet it’s all connected to the same instrumental concept.

In the beginning, Matyascorvinus’ release “Shadow In The Flame” was an ordered work. The song was supposed to be a cover song, which had been requested by Matyascorvinus’ friend. Although he did the job, he did not contribute anything to the project.
As a result, he decided to keep it for himself; he believes that it was the right decision on his part. In the original version, the artist made some changes to it, and here is the reworked version that was created. There was something very special about this recreation and revival of a bygone era.
There is an original version of the song by Cathedral (Hopkins the witchfinder general), which is one of the artist’s favourites. The story of this tune revolves around witchcraft and the Inquisition.
Essentially, it unjustified war on women and unjustified violence against defenceless humans. Folklore and stories associated with this dark chapter of history have been passed down from generation to generation.
Due to the fact that Matyascorvinus is a lover of Gothic subjects and everything that has to do with the dark arts in general, he has always found the times of witchery to be fascinating.
But instead of a horror story, his recreated song was a soundtrack of longing. The heartbreaking loss of a loved one perhaps lost forever. According to the artist’s point of view, today, when unjustified violence against defenceless human beings again takes place in Europe, it is right to remind us what it is to be a human to a human.
“It should be about peace, love and understanding. The situation in Ukraine, for example, is one of pure evil and hatred. However, I believe that it’s love that prevails. Someday the dark days will be over… Again!”.
