1) ANTON COMMISSARIS – She’s Not The Hurting Kind
Anton Commissaris is a young artist from the United States, who grew up listening to the music of his father’s homeland: The Republic of South Africa. His single “She’s Not The Hurting Kind” is a country-jazz love song that combines a storyteller’s voice with an easy-listening sound and soulful instrumentals.
I would classify this song as country jazz, a rare genre. The song starts off with a guitar riff and then moves into a light drum beat.
As the main section transitions from one section to another, a lilting melody with a light swing feel is present. It has an easygoing vibe that makes you want to relax, but it doesn’t leave you feeling sleepy or bored—instead, it keeps your ears perked up, eager for what comes next.
The tone of the song is upbeat and optimistic, which makes it perfect for an easy listen on your way home from work or school, or even just hanging out with friends!

3) CHUCKY TRADING CO – The Scars Of Our War
Chucky Trading Co. is an American folk-pop band based in Manhattan, New York. Their debut single “The Scars Of Our War” is just amazing and was released last month.
Their music is a mix of soft rock and folk-pop with a hint of classic country sound. The lyrics are relatable and speak about the experiences of everyday people, which makes them easy to connect to. This is especially true for those who live in or around big cities like New York, as they focus on topics such as relationships, love, and feelings.
This single is a perfect example of a ballad and love song. The song starts off with a smooth acoustic sound, which then transitions into a catchy chorus that you can’t help but sing along to. The singer has a beautiful voice that is complemented by his instrumentation. As the song continues, it becomes more lively while still maintaining its softness and charm.

4) GILLIAN STONE – Spirit Photographs
In a time where we’re all looking for a little more peace and a lot less chaos, GILLIAN STONE‘s new EP Spirit Photographs is here to help.
The Canadian-based artist takes listeners on a journey through her own personal experience of self-discovery with this latest release. The album is full of raw emotion, which she translates into an intimate listening experience.
Spirit Photographs is an album about grief that combines post-rock and drone folk. The five songs represent Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’ stages: denial (“June”), anger (“Amends”), bargaining (“Raven’s Song”), depression (“Solitude”, a Black Sabbath cover from the seminal Master of Reality) and acceptance (“The Throne”).
Spirit Photographs responds to and challenges post-rock’s male-dominated and instrumentally driven landscape by being vocally and emotionally driven. while her production work draws from influences like Arcade Fire and Radiohead—and it works perfectly with her own unique style.

5) MARK WINTERS – Positive People
Mark Winters is a singer-songwriter from Sugar Land, Texas who has been releasing great music for the last few years. The sound he creates is often described as Folk Pop, but it’s also been called Lofi Pop and Easy Listening by producers from PopHits.Co.
His latest single, Positive People, has a catchy tune and an irresistible rhythm that will get stuck in your head for days.
According to the song, some people are negative, and other people are positive; it encourages you not to listen to negative people because they have nothing to do with the quality of your life; it is a story about positivity. This song is super catchy and easy listening at the same time!
Mark Winters’ website has links where you can follow him on Spotify and SongKick so that you can check out more of his music. You can also find out more about him on his Facebook page or Instagram account if you want to learn more about him personally.
6) CYNTHIA HAMAR – Where Your Love Lives
The fourth album from Métis singer-songwriter Cynthia Hamar charted on the National Top 50 chart, Earshot, and the National Folk/Roots/Blues Chart, as well as receiving spins on CBC Music. As a follow-up to the successful album release, Hamar shares a nostalgic music video for the highlight track “Where Your Love Lives” (out November 18, 2022).
Her voice is reminiscent of Amy Winehouse, with a little bit of Adele mixed in for good measure. She has a soft, soothing tone that makes you want to sit back and relax with this song on repeat.
Nick Cave’s musically inspired track evokes bittersweet memories of days gone by, only heightened by the music video’s VHS collage. Directed by Korban Hamar and edited by Jessica Lowe, the video uses personal footage of Hamar and her family.
A prepared piano technique (paper is placed in the strings of the piano body) is used throughout the song “Where Your Love Lives” to create unique percussive sounds.
Hamar’s website describes her sound as “alt-folk,” which just means that she mixes elements of folk music (acoustic guitar) with elements of rock music (electric guitar).
This gives her songs an interesting texture that makes them stand out from other artists who may be playing similar genres right now on Spotify or Pandora—she’s not afraid to experiment! Check it out now, watch her music video, visit Cynthia Hamar’s website, and follow her on Spotify.
7) DEAN MUELLER – Movin’ On
In the world of music, there are a lot of ways to stand out. You can have an amazing voice, or write great songs. You can be creative and unique in your sound, or you can find an audience that loves what you do. But if you want to really make a name for yourself, you need to do all of those things at once.
You’d think it would be impossible for one person to pull off all of that at once—but that’s exactly what DEAN MUELLER does with his new single “Movin’ On.”
The song is about as American as it gets: it’s got that classic country vibe, but it also has a modern twist on it that makes it feel fresh and new.
It’s got just enough twang in its guitar playing to give it that old-timey feel while still being able to keep up with the times—and when he sings about moving on from his hometown (which happens to be Bend), it sounds like he’s singing right out of a classic country songbook.
But don’t let him fool you: this isn’t some old-fashioned throwback artist trying to bring back yesterday’s sounds just because they’re cool again—it’s actually an incredibly modern take on folk and country music Check it out, visit Dean Mueller’s website, and follow him on Spotify
8) DIVINING ROD – Mason County Line
Imagine a singer-songwriter with a classic sound, who plays the guitar, and drums and sings simultaneously with the alt-country rock band DIVINING ROD.
That’s it, and this is just amazing fresh music! led by Hawaiian-born, multi-instrumentalist Miyuki Furtado, the band is just releasing a new single, “Mason County Line”, and this is just what we needed to get your week going.
This is an exciting new drop, which was produced and released recently by the band – after the pandemic – and recorded mostly live.
Songs that are swathed in reverb, richly melodic and rowdy at the same time. It’s a classic sound that we haven’t heard much in recent times—and it’s just what we need right now to enrich our playlist.
As one of the leaders of a trio of guitarists and vocalists along with bassist Matt Svigals and drummer John Malone, Furtado has been playing soul-tinged Americana across the east coast alongside his cohorts, now prepared to deliver much more.
