In case you haven’t noticed, EDM is blowing up right now. You might have seen that there’s a new club banger every week, and they’re all pretty much the same thing: huge drops, tiny grooves, and lots of room for you to dance around like an idiot.

You could uncover some gems from independent artists who are making electronic pop music (or EPM) that isn’t just about big drops and high-energy club tracks.

That’s where I come in! I’m here today with some fresh new EPM releases from independent artists that will get your head bopping without sacrificing any quality or creativity.

If anything, these artists are pushing boundaries even further than their mainstream counterparts by creating music that is simultaneously cutting-edge and accessible.

1) DJ PLATINUM VIBES – Me Myself And I

7) BABY X DADDY – BUBBLES

The artist Meggie Brown, who goes by the name Baby, was chosen as a Guardians ‘Artist of 2020’ championed by the likes of Iggy Pop, Franz Ferdinand, Alex Kapranos, & The Gossip.

As a result of the gender-affirming surgery, Baby is now back with a new electronic offering – “BABY X DADDY“, a collaboration with producer DADDY.

The single, “Bubbles”, is a groovy, pop-inflected track that is super edgy and experimental. It’s got a heavy beat and great vocals—a talented singer who knows how to deliver a song with just the right amount of energy and emotion.

8) ROGUE FX – American Dream

If you’re looking for some synth-pop with a touch of 80s nostalgia and an ear for the UK, look no further than ROGUE FX.

The artist known as Rogue Fx is Andrew Wood from the North East of England. Several well-received singles were released by Rogue Fx in the years 2022 and 2023 as well as a successful collaboration with the astronaut Dr Chrispi.

9) MAC SUMMER – Suddenly The Rain

We’re so excited to share this new single from New Zealand artist MAC SUMMER. He’s an independent artist who has been on the scene for a while now, but he’s really starting to make waves with his new album, “Suddenly The Rain.”

‘Suddenly The Rain’ is the perfect example of Liquid DnB at its best, with its ethereal vocals in addition to a complex latticework of rhythm that perfectly embodies the modern sound of Liquid DnB.

The song begins with a mysterious piano intro to set the mood for the song to evolve into a high-energy electronic track full of big hooks and memorable moments.

10) APHIRE – Rise

If you’re looking for some new music to get you pumped, look no further than the single “Rise” by UK-based artist APHIRE.

The track is a perfect blend of pop, dance, and electronic elements that will make you want to get up and move—it’s the perfect song for working out or just getting your groove on.

”Aphire was a side project I created to attempt Drum n Bass production, but I’ve taken it on into other genres since and was quite happy with how this evolved.” – Says Aphire.

” Rising” is as much about getting out of a lengthy production slump as it is about personally getting it together enough to rise up and see the world again, if only for a brief moment.

Aphire also shared: ”Selecting the right tempo was really important, as I’m used to typically 140 and below, or obviously higher in the DNB tracks. 150 seemed to be perfect. As such it ended up leaning towards more of a techno beat”
