1) MICHAEL KIEL CASH – Shores of Mercy
Michael Kiel Cash is an acoustic folk rock artist based in New York City. His album Shores of Mercy is a perfect example of why he’s, in my opinion, included in that group of most promising singer-songwriters of our journey as curators.
This album has a classic sound that would be right at home on any radio station in the 1970s or 1980s, but with a modern twist that keeps it from feeling dated or old-fashioned.
The instrumentation is simple but perfectly suited to Cash’s voice and lyrics. The songs are beautifully written and performed. Lying With My Baby will for sure move you to shake your groove thing.

2) HAYDEN HADDOCK – Tequila
Hayden Haddock is a country singer-songwriter who has been making good quality music with a mix of genres in the country. Tequila is his latest single, and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
It’s a classic sound, with soft rock influences and catchy lyrics that will get stuck in your head for days. The song also has an anthem-like quality that makes it perfect for the party, listening at home or on the road—and it’s definitely an easy listen.
You may have noticed that there aren’t many young male vocalists in the country today, but Hayden Haddock is one of the few who are doing what they do best: writing songs about life, love and all of those other things that make us experience emotions in music.

3) JONATHAN LOBO – Love
If you’re looking for an EP that is soft but will lift your spirits and inspire you to get through the week, look no further than Love by Jonathan Lobo, who is based in Dubai. The album is a collection of five songs that are upbeat, catchy, and fun to listen to, perfect for that romantic moment of the party. It’s an EP that will make you feel good about yourself, no matter how bad your day has been.
The first song on the album, “The Cost” starts out soft but quickly builds into something much more upbeat. It’s a great song to start off with if you’re just getting into the album—it’ll give you a taste of everything it has to offer in one short track!
The next two tracks are dark-pop style, we could say romantic or nostalgic folk, but not sad songs. These songs have lyrics that are very reminiscent of some of the best love songs out there: they’re melancholy and sometimes evoke down emotions, but also hopeful at their core, which makes them perfect for anyone who loves heartbreak songs, acoustic style or similar.
They’re all mellow songs full of rich vocals from Jonathan Lobo himself; we really loved all tracks, so if you like hearing artists singing with their souls, this is a good option. Our favourite is “Love” which you can listen to below, and also follow the artist on Spotify to support his art.
4) SCOT FREE SESSIONS – Ford Motel
If you’re a fan of alt-country and Americana or even soft rock and classic sounds, you’ll love SCOT FREE SESSIONS. Their newest single “Ford Motel” is just what you need to lift your spirits.
The band’s sound can be described as soft rock with classic influences like folk, country and blues. It’s an easy listening experience that makes you want to listen to it on repeat.
The vocals are done by the singer-songwriter Bobby Cameron who has a great voice that reminds me of artists like Ryan Adams, who has a great portfolio too.
The lyrics are simple but very effective in telling the story. Overall the song is catchy and will definitely get stuck in your head!
SCOT FREE SESSIONS is based in Edmonton, Alberta which is located in Canada. This single marks their first release on streaming services, so check it out and follow the band on Spotify.
5) OH LONESOME ANA – Rushing Lattice
Rushing Lattice by OH LONESOME ANA is a single that you can’t stop listening to. It’s a blend of alt-folk, soft rock and alternative sounds.
The song features super edgy male vocals and it has an overall moody vibe. It’s got an upbeat tempo, but it’s also very mellow; this is a song that will make you want to sit back and relax.
Although the band is based in the United States, Sacramento, California, their sound is definitely international. The band members’ influences could include Jeff Buckley, Bright Eyes and Fleet Foxes—all artists who made their mark on the indie folk scene with their unique soundscapes and ethereal vocals.
In my opinion, Rushing Lattice feels like a tribute to these bands: it has similar chord progressions and uses simple melodies over complex rhythms that make it incredibly easy to follow along with while still being very engaging at the same time.
All in all? This song is a must-listen if you’re a fan of folk rock. Check it out and follow the band on Spotify.

The song starts off with an amazing guitar strumming a simple rhythm, then builds into a catchy chorus, all featuring beautiful female vocals. The bridge features some fantastic harmonies that are sure to hypnotize you.
The artist is based in Sweden, Malmö, but her sound combines elements of Americana and soft rock with folk influences from all over Scandinavia. The lyrics are playful but also introspective, which makes them relatable on both a personal level as well as a broader one.

7) TONY DON TRACY – Number One Fool
Tony Don Tracy is a country singer-songwriter based out of Kettle River, Minnesota. His new single “Number One Fool” is a perfect example of his classic sound and feel.
Tony Don Tracy’s new single “Number One Fool” starts off with an explosive guitar and drums, but a melody that gradually builds into an upbeat rhythm and blues tune.
Number One Fool is a great example of the classic alt-country sound that we all love. This song has been on repeat for me for the last few days, and it’s just what I needed for my party, something soft but pleasing enough to dance to. The lyrics are beautiful, and they’re delivered with such conviction that you can’t help but feel moved by them.
If you’re looking for something new and different in the world of music, then Number One Fool is the song for you. It’ll make your day brighter—and it will definitely make your playlist better. Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify!
8) JENNIFER ALVARADO – Rock This Way
If you’re into alt-country, Americana, and melodic pop rock, you need to check out Jennifer Alvarado‘s new single “Rock This Way.”
The tune is a classic example of indie rock fusion with country music—it’s got the catchy hooks that will keep you singing along, but it’s also got an old-school sound that feels familiar and comfortable.
Alvarado’s new single showcases her ability to write songs with sharp hooks and memorable choruses—and it doesn’t hurt that her voice is just perfect for this kind of music. It’s not hard to imagine yourself singing along with her as you drive down a country road on a sunny spring day.
We highly recommend following her on Spotify so you can stay up-to-date with all of the new music she releases!
9) CRASH WORLD – So The Story Goes
Every once in a while, you hear something that makes you stop and say, “Wow. This is really incredible.” That’s how I feel about So The Story Goes by Crash World.
This was considered one of the favourite bands between the curators and producers of PopHits.Co who described this album as a piece of art turned into a fusion of folk, rock, country and blues. Our favourite track of this album is R ‘n’ R Queen A.D, it’s the rockiest on the whole album, but Lucky One is worth listening to, we just loved it.
The album is a journey through the heart of folk rock, with all its twists and turns, its ups and downs, and its many shades of grey. The vocals are soft but strong; they’ll make you feel like you’re sitting on the edge of your seat as they weave their way through each song’s story.
The guitars are crisp but not harsh; they’ll make you want to close your eyes and just listen to the music wash over you. The drums are subtle but powerful; they’ll make you want to move with them as they carry you through each tune’s rhythm.
Overall, this album is just what indie folk rock should be: fresh, exciting new sounds from an artist who has clearly put his heart into his work. Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify!
10) TASHA BLACKMORE – Brown Eyes
TASHA BLACKMORE‘s “Brown Eyes” is a fun, catchy country rock tune with impressive female vocals. The song has a melodic pop-rock sound that will make you want to hit the repeat button.
This song has been getting a lot of attention recently, and it’s easy to see why: it’s super catchy, and soft rock fans should definitely check it out, but even if you’re not a country fan, the sound of this release will catch your ear.
The artist is based in Wooler, United Kingdom, so it’s no surprise that the single has an indie vibe. It’s not your typical country music—it’s more on the pop side of things.
