EDM Playlists For The Weekend: Good New Music From Up-And-Coming DJs And Producers

Will Lisil 6 October 2022

Electronic Dance Music is a flourishing genre that few people can say they understand. From a fan’s perspective, the purpose of this playlist is to make a selection and taste easy.

The featured tracks are all original or remix from independent artists in the electronic scene. The overall sound is danceable while being accessible to even non-EDM fans.

Nothing on this list is too fringe or overly experimental because, truth be told, not every EDM lover appreciates the genre’s less popular sub-genres like electro or glitch hop.

VIKINGS releasing Tanlines/Swimming At Night EP

Besides many of these songs deliver a mix of genres too, we’re talking about some seriously classic sounds here! Good old melodic synth-driven jams to feel nostalgic about and keep you groovin’ at high BPMs for days… weeks… years!

You can listen to our full playlist which contains the artists’ music, and know more about their work by scrolling down the page.

1) AGENDA AMBIENTE – Next Gen

AGENDA AMBIENTE is a Guatemalan EDM artist that is worth a listen. This week, the EDM community has been buzzing about a new single from AGENDA AMBIENTE called “Next Gen”.

This is a deep house track with some serious synth work and an anthemic vibe. It’s definitely one of those songs that make you want to get up and dance, but also – without any lyrics – has an emotional depth that keeps it from being just another dance hit.

It’s got this classic sound that takes you back to the days when electronic pop was still new but also feels like something entirely fresh from current times. A tribute to the early years of EDM, not a remix.

The song starts out with some soft bass lines, before moving into a beautiful instrumental section with sweeping synths and catchy drum beats. The whole thing feels like a soundtrack for an epic and futuristic movie scene—you can picture it as the music playing in the background as your favourite hero saves the day!

If you’re looking for something new and different in your music collection, then check out AGENDA AMBIENTE’s “Next Gen”, visit their YouTube and follow them on Spotify today!

2) PARIZ – New Piece

PARIZ is an EDM independent artist from the United States, Fort Worth. His latest single, “New Piece,” is a smooth deep house track with a catchy vocal line and an anthemic feel. It’s bound to get you moving and grooving—especially if you’re at the gym!

The track starts off with a simple drum beat and builds into a catchy melody with a catchy vocal line repeated throughout the song. The lyrics talk about feeling good, being happy, and having fun in life—which are all things we should be doing more of!

Pariz made the song “New Piece” when he was on a family trip to New York in an attempt to break the writer’s block he had been experiencing. When he returned from New York after spending a day there, he found the vocals he had downloaded on his laptop. The results of it you can only check by listening to his new release now.

If you’re looking for something new to listen to this summer (or any time of year), PARIZ has got you covered. Check out his SoundCloud and follow him on Spotify!

3) GRAYBEAT – Realms Of Passion

GRAYBEAT is the name of an EDM independent artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The producer has been making waves in the electronic music scene with his single, Realms Of Passion. The single is a combination of synth-pop and deep house that makes you want to close your eyes and dance all night long.

The track starts off with a soft synth lead – but quite epic at the same time – and a smooth kick drum that builds up to a heavy beat with a catchy bassline and even more powerful female vocals.

GRAYBEAT’s music is more for relaxation than for lifting you up. There are times when I’m not looking for something so upbeat—like when I’m working or trying to relax after a long day. That’s where GRAYBEAT comes in!

The song is perfect for those of us who have been through breakups or have had trouble finding our soulmates – the lyrics are short but it speaks directly to our hearts and makes us feel like we’re not alone in our struggles. Check it out, visit the artist’s website and follow on Spotify.

4) SHA¥AN – UnderGround

SHA¥AN is a Canadian EDM artist with a unique sound that’s sure to get you dancing. With his latest single, UnderGround, SHA¥AN takes you back to the roots of what it means to be an EDM artist.

The song opens with a classic EDM beat and builds up into a French House style that’s sure to make you want to put on your best rave outfit and hit the dance floor.

The vocals are delivered in a classic male voice that makes this track feel like it could have been written decades ago—but don’t let that fool you! SHA¥AN brings his own spin on this classic sound by infusing some modern elements into the mix.

You’ll hear some interesting chord progressions and some unusual synth sounds that give this song an almost nostalgic feeling while still maintaining its current relevance. This track is perfect for listening for a workout session or when you’re getting ready for a night out on the town!

If you’re looking for something upbeat, danceable, and fun, look no further than UnderGround by SHA¥AN. Check it out, visit the artist’s SoundCloud and follow on Spotify.

5) CIELO PORDOMINGO – Wake Up

When I first heard the song “Wake Up” by Cielo Pordomingo, I was immediately intrigued, it sounds mysterious. The first thing that caught my attention was the cartoon music video. It reminded me of a combination between a Japanese anime and a pop-up book. The animation was very colourful and made it easy to follow along with the lyrics.

She is from Argentina, so it’s a cultural mix. The beat was very orchestral, danceable and upbeat, which kept me interested throughout the entire song. I loved how they added in some electronic effects like beats and bass drops but also kept it simple enough so that anyone would be able to sing along with it easily.

We can say that the song has a retro feel to it but still sounds modern. The beat is crisp and fresh, but also slow enough for listeners to enjoy the lyrics. It’s like listening to 90s pop music with an electronic twist!

I would recommend this song if you’re looking for something different and with more instruments than the average EDM production.

Include this one in your playlist. It’s perfect for any occasion—from studying at home, going out with friends or for a weekend party—and will make you want to repeat. Check it out, watch her music video, visit the artist’s website and follow her on Spotify.

6) VIKINGS – Tanlines/Swimming At Night

Vikings, a Canadian EDM group, released their third project, the Tanlines/Swimming At Night EP. The four-track EP features a mix of electronic pop and dance music that will appeal to anyone looking for a new addition to their EDM playlist.

In the first track, “Tanlines”, Vikings’ lead singer brought his delicious sexy voice over an upbeat rhythm with lyrics that are both catchy and relatable.

Make this song the soundtrack of your weekend party, car ride, or special moment when you dance and sing along in the car. It’s very “The 1975” in some parts, a bit retro but still very modern. It could be on the radio around the world for sure!

The second track, “Swimming At Night”, is more danceable than the first one, and I can tell, it’s one of the best electronic songs we heard in the past weeks.

This EP is actually a collection of two main songs and their remixes. We can say they are both electronic pop anthems. It’s that kind of song you use for celebrating life’s ups and downs with friends along the way, like the soundtrack of your life events that you never forget.

It’s got an indie-pop vibe with some great electronica mixed in; it’ll have you tapping your feet for sure. Check it out, visit the artist’s website and follow on Spotify.
