The experimental indie artist Meraki Trice just dropped a collection of bedroom pop showcasing dreamy acoustic guitars and lo-fi ambient sounds. It’s a perfect chill-out EP called B1nary 111.
This project was released under their own independent label, the self-titled brand ‘MERAKI TRICE’. The five tracks are a fusion of acoustic style with electronic effects, it’s experimental, and it’s not like the average song we hear on the radio, it is for triggering the listener to experience different sensations through sound.
Likewise, don’t expect this to be your typical bedroom pop. This project looks even more different than the one created by Billie Eilish, who made this music genre super popular years ago.
If you are into guitar-driven dreamy dark-pop soundscapes, with a nice amount of reverb and psychedelic touch this is for you. Get high on music!
I think it’s fair to say that Meraki Trice’s sound has matured over the last releases with tracks available on “Binary 111” showcasing their popular style – layered sounds and vocals, while newer offerings like “Mr.j”, which bring a more mature sound with hypnotic electronic effects and melodies.

As mentioned, Meraki’s style is bedroom pop with experimental dreamy vibes, which is a perfect description for this EP. The songs have a simple yet intriguing arrangement that leaves plenty of room for Meraki’s voice to shine. Their voice has been described as “flawless” and “ethereal.”
The term experimental music refers to any kind of music or genre of music that has the capacity to push boundaries and redefine genre definitions and classifications.
The EP’s first track, “Mr.j”, gives you the opportunity to listen to their voice distinctly, starts off with some soft piano playing and their voice above all in harmony, then the beat drops in with an ethereal quality that makes you feel like you’re floating away on clouds. It’s very short but enough to make you open for the next tune and the project’s vibe as a whole.
“Collectivo” is another acoustic style and guitar-driven track with some serious chillout and retro music in a fusion; it’s one of my favorites on the EP because it has such an interesting melody and captivating vocals from Meraki themselves.
They delivered on their portfolio some songs for dancing too, the second most popular song of their collection – from Negev EP – is ready for dancing as it brings nice drums and more rhythm. The song inspire feelings, has a deep emotional side, and is entitled “Sunrise”. It’s good for relaxing too but at 1:18 you will have your heart jumping with the subtle change of vibes, volume, intonation, and everything in bwtween.
Going back to the B1nary 111 EP, the second track, “Toxic Values”, as the whole EP, is all about how Meraki feels when they sees the circumstances of the world from a different perspective—their music seeks to explore existentialism, what leads to a deep state of mind that is very inclined to moments of reflection.
I highly recommend you check it out, visit their website and follow them on Spotify. It’s total dreaminess in abundance!
